I have fallen asleep on the regular in this room over the last 23 years so many times but more than ever now. The pictured speakers are CSS Criton 1TD-X models with the Bass Modules from CSS that makes them a true 3-way, They have the tunable passive radiators also and that is nice. I believe I finally have found my "Non Horn" speaker. They are so good I'm not looking forward to parting with them to have the final matching walnut veneer done.

Other gear in the photos: NAD master series amp, HiFi Rose RS150B, Schitt Loki Maxx, GD-Audio reference preamp, Otari MTR-10, and various turntables.

The Suggy is on its way to Sugden and the BP300B is still at the hospital, so while not new to me, the first time back in the system in many many moons.

Great fun and capable enough to live with for a bit.

MacMini M2 with Audirvana
RME ADI-2 DAC fs
Genelec 8030C
Sennheiser HD650

A couple of words about Audirvana.
I think it's a great piece of software that served me well for the last 7 years or so.
They have Audirvana remote app for tablets and phones so no need to turn the monitor on at all. I just switch on the Mac and the app and have music playing instantly. It's been solid and always ready. I mainly stream my own library but it does support Tidal and Qobuz as well as (in the newer paid monthly version) internet radios. If people don't need multiroom Roon streaming and endpoints then this seems like a good streamer. Certainly - in my experience - better than five other streamers I've tried and they all failed to play my own library consistently and without all sort of problems.

The speakers look the way they look and I am not a big fan of their looks, however the sound they produce is very pleasing, full bodied, not mid-hyped monitor like.

I'd like to add a comment re Audirvana and multiroom streaming. Actually, it is possible to stream from Audirvana to bluetooth receivers. So I have bluetooth speaker in the kitchen and stream frequently from Audirvana/Mac as well as to my Sennheiser Momentum Wireless headphones.

Not worth a photo but I moved my small Rel sub to the other side of the rack, between that and the right speaker as I was getting more bass and impact to the left of the sub and not really hearing it much in my listening spot. It's made a huge difference, it's like having a different system.

There aren't enough photos of subs on this forum...

Glad to hear the move has worked out well 🙂. One key advantage of subs over larger main speakers is being able to put the sub where it sounds best like this.

+1 to more pictures of subs. Another advantage of subs related to the above point is that once you’ve got the subs’ position sorted, you can move the main speakers to tune the stereo imaging without being concerned about messing up the bass.

Here is my messy man hovel at the bottom of the garden, if you want to know the specs of the PC or bike let me know 😉

From the top:

Pro-ject Debut Carbon Evo with Ortofon Bronze

Raspberry Pi running ropieee and DigiHat

Ifi Zen Phono

Chord Qutest

Coupla 5v Linear power supplies from Audiophonics

Musical Fidelity M2si

KEF R5

BK Electronics XLSS400 Sub

Home made power cables, nothing too fancy

Tellerium Q Ultra Blue speaker cable

Decent Chord interconnects

The amp and turntable are in my sights for upgrade atm, I love the sound stage and definition I get from the system at the moment but it can sound a little hard and cold at times, especially when pushed. I'm thinking of trying out Denon or maybe Hegel, any suggestions gratefully received

Turntable is noisy and I've never been happy with it to be honest, I'm thinking of giving Technics a go, SL-100c looks good.

With the help of loads of good advice from the WAM I have been on a bit of a (low budget) spending spree and picked up three new amps to try, along with a Zen Air phono stage and a Sabaj headphone amp

First new integrated in the cabinet is an Exposure 2010, which considering the modest purchase price and power output is really lively and enjoyable to listen to. Having a remote is a novelty too 😁

Looking forward to a bit of box-swapping over the coming weeks to gain some experience of different sounds and approaches to amplification

I got rid of my main system a couple of years ago, thinking I would get more use out of a headphone system. But I did have some spare kit kept behind, and, once/if swmbo will give me a break from paying for holidays and cars, intend to get a decent set of floorstanders and a pre to go with these, SJ Audio PPA 100 amps and DAC. Probably a streaming pre also... IMG20230218160055.jpg
