Agreed, recording quality and deliberate decisions about the mix vary wildly and you have to strike a compromise. As long as it sounds right on Pink Floyd then I’m happy and anything else I can put up with!

i thought a lot of the pink floyd stuff sounds rather good, nice mix, etc, and nice left and right spread most times,. some cd re issues are terrible from memory, but its been a while since i played these tunes,

The change from tube amplification to high powered SS has not been subtle here. It almost sounds like a entirely new system. And one alien to me. Iam enjoying it for what it is, and the absolute neutrality and high drive power of the SS AudioGD mono blocks are probably what the doctor ordered. As Iam unable to stop listening once I start. It's 0430 in India and Iam still at it...

Swapped out a Lyngdorf 1120 for a Line Magnetic 5181a. Very different, but happy that I made the change. Had the LM playing for 5-6 hours and will
be going for a couple more.

Just received new stands for my power amps. The first pair were originally made for me in 2018. And were a custom size. Luckily the designer and builder of my stands had a record of the dimensions to fabricate an extra pair for me. So the spikes of the upper stands, settles exactly into the cup of the lower stand. Very happy with the precise workmanship and fit and finish.



So the center rack houses all the source components. And the twin pair of side stands now house the amplification.

And I have added cerabase isolators from the same maker inbetween different shelves of the rack, with the idea of isolating my CD player and TT better from the other kit. ( The cerabases are the thick stainless steel peices at the bottom, into which the spikes of the upper rack are resting )





I dont have the ears to make out if it makes a sonic difference or not. But iam happy that it looks nice, is solidly made and functional.

A couple of weeks in with this, purchased from @Open door who is brilliant to deal with. I didn't go crazy with the spec as I need to get rid of some stuff first (ended up with five amps?! ). And want to appreciate the upgrades in stages

So russian K-73 output caps, Synergistic Research Black fuse and NOS 5751 tubes

I'm no hi-fi reviewer, but it sounds very organic to me, but still dynamic, and I think it pairs well with the Unico. The combo has dug out much more bass texture and depth from my Neats

And I know the blue backlighting for the tubes is a bit try-hard, but I like it!

It is sounding really really good. Lately i had lost interest in my setup. And was hardly using it. The addition of the AudioGD master 2H mono blocks has somehow rekindled the love affair again. I dont use credit cards, so dont have tidal. But even the spotify iam currently using out of the lumin streamer is sounding great. My next upgrade will be a dac. Iam yet to decide between a esoteric N-05XD and a T+A Dac200. But Iam in no hurry, as Iam again finding my system very enjoyable. Besides, Iam spinning a lot of CD's lately. So all in all, the love is back....and iam listening again for prolonged periods of time. Which i think is all that should matter. Cheers

What DAC is that? I assume that it is a DAC?

Its a Jolida Glass fx dac (mk2 or 3), the fore-runner of my Black Ice (new name for Jolida)
