Re the tv cover, my wife an upholsterer, made me one which literally takes 5 seconds to place on and 3 seconds to remove. It actually helps to keep dust off the screen however, I hear where you are coming from, it could be seen as a faf.
Cheers

Very nice. I see you are also running dual subs. I've just this weekend put a single REL S/812 in and already lusting after a second!

Mainly inspired by the ongoing enthusiasm of @oldius, one of these has been on my Want List for quite a long time.

It's rather tattier aesthetically than it looks in the photo. But is as described on the eBay auction, and I got it at what I think is a fair price. Tested it on some cheap speakers first, now connected to my MBL speakers.

I suspect it's all original, so I may well get it serviced, but it doesn't sound obviously 'off'.

Initial impressions are... this is good.

Nice, this is on my list of things to own one day after numerous recommendations from seasoned Wammers 👍

Yeah, I hear you, and I've no doubt it would change the tonality noticeably. This probably sounds irrational but it's just something I'm reluctant to do. Firstly, the thought of something touching the TV panel (and leaving even more dust!) makes me squirm. Second, as we do watch quite a lot of TV I'd be forever covering and uncovering it. Too much of a pain in the asspidistra 😁 I would consider motorised curtains... one for the room refurb, perhaps.

P.S. am strongly considering acoustic panels either side of the telly, in the corners, where they can hopefully manage some of the complex reflections from front and side wall. Eventually there will be a custom double-shelf for the hi-fi & AV, and I will be moving my turntable wall bracket lower, so there would be room on the left as well as the right
Don't buy any panels just yet @Jules_S as Cathy, Joolz's widow, has a bunch of excellent acoustic panels she would like to see the back of.
As you were indicating to me in a recent pm that you were thinking of visiting shortly, you would be able to see 2 of them stood up in the main listening room in action. They wouldn't be much money and I could bring 2 back when I next go over there.

Yes, the Lentek amp is very good.
It's off to be checked and serviced this week.
It'll be interesting to see how this 45 year old amp fares on the test bench.
I'll report back.
My mate and I got Joolz's one going in the second system yesterday. Martin tells me only 500 were made. Seems very few to me..

Some exciting new arrivals this week... A Bamboo turntable with bamboo unipivot arm by @Chrisg139, fitted with a new AT-VM95SH cart

I really like how it looks and sonically a massive upgrade from my Technics starter deck, I guess it will get even better as the stylus breaks in 😁

And also impulsively bought an entry level Nak, it's in great condition but finding it a bit clinical and lacking is bass compared to the Technics RS B505 that I picked up through Spirit of the Wam... So it might not be a keeper. Looks cool though 😎

It lives 🙂

Not exactly new to me, but first times it's been 100% working.

Mrs Dog finds our system too baffling to use, and resorts to listening on a Bluetooth speaker instead!

So I managed to get hold of a Chordette Gem which means that she can listen through her choice of source. These received lukewarm reviews when launched yet I find that mine is very enjoyable. It doesn’t stand up to critical listening but to play music for company it’s great.

The arrival of the Gem meant that I needed to shuffle the gear around the rack. I found some marble candle holders and with some spacers was able to lift my Rock up so that my Stax energiser would squeeze beneath it.

I’m chuffed with how it all looks and it still sounds great ( if not a little better…)
