I've been watching "BBC Play of the Month" on YT. I enjoyed all the JB Priestley ones. I knew one of his daughters quite well - Mary Priestley the music therapist. I went to a lot of her group sessions. Referring to her childhood in the Priestley household she said..

"I had to decide at an early age whether to believe what people said or what I observed them doing with my own eyes. I decided to trust my eyes".

Watched "The Killer" on Netflix, really enjoyed it. Nothing new to the genre but a very well made film.

Following on with the David Fincher theme I finally got round to watching "Gone Girl" on Prime. Both my wife and I enjoyed that one too.

Started watching another one on Netflix last night, something called "Heart of Stone". Managed 20 minutes then gave up on it, garbage.

Sisu was as enjoyable as Inglorious Basterds...just as outrageous!.
I didn't recognise the title but after a search on IMDB.com I realise I have it saved to my favourites. Something to do with Nazi Gold iirc?

I'll definitely be checking it out this weekend. Thanks for the update! :)

I've been watching Dan Duryea noir films on YT. An actor I really like. Quite the gentleman in real life, and a Cornell graduate. Played villains mostly. My favourite film noir actors....

Cagney, Bogart, Edward G

Robert Mitchum and Gene Tierney

Richard Widmark, Dan Duryea

Lizabeth Scott and Peter Lorre

Your story jogged my my dusty memory vault. When a teenager I stayed with my cousin in Tiddington nr Stratford On Avon. I helped him with his paper round.
Remember we went to a nice house & Tim said it was where J.B Priestly lived & that at Xmas the butler would bring him a £20 note on a silver tray.
Considering it was probably 10 times more than his wages you could say that my cousin loved his paper round. :)
Memories.
