The next 'Wam Taxi' is set for the weekend of the 7th and 8th October.

A little bit more notice this time for you to line up that new phono stage, dac, or pr. of floorstanders.

The normal route is (setting off from Chichester) south to north on the first leg, staying overnight in W. Yorkshire, and returning south on Sunday.

The custom is to reimburse the driver for fuel on a voluntary basis.

Newcomers could pm previous 'customers' for likely contributions.

Good idea, also, to browse previous Wam Taxi threads to view my MO. (Use 'other' to narrow the chances of finding them.)

I can highly recommend Jacks services. Unlike a courier company, Jack goes above and beyond to make sure the item is delivered safely. Use with complete confidence !

hoho...

My normal route from Chichester, W. Sussex to W. Yorkshire is, M27 west, M3, A34 (towards Newbury), cross M4, M40, then Towcester bypass (A45?), M1, M62. (But deviations plausible..)

A one way ticket with yer average box of electronics would need a £20 fuel donation, just to give you some idea.

Pm received Bob.
I don't think it too indiscreet of me to disclose that Chris's Hyperspace has found a new home.
So, on the 7th there's a pick up in Long Eaton and a drop off on the 8th in Leighton Buzzard.

Plus Joolz's LP12 has sold to a Wammer in Aylesbury so I will be taking that up on the 7th too.

A new addition is collection of a DAC from Bettisdad for RJK, who will take delivery on the way back.
Also I will have an item for Khapahk in Leighton Buzzard which he will get on the 8th, and that fits in nicely with dropping the LP12 off in Aylesbury just after because when I'm drawn east I usually tack westwards via Aylesbury, then drop down on that Marlow bypass dual carriageway (A404).
Looking at the map, it would make sense to drop RJK's DAC off in Northampton, rather than the other option he gave me, Coventry, as its M1 just north of L. Buzzard.
So that section on Sunday reads: Northampton, Leighton B., Aylesbury. Neat..

Definitely taking in the Man U home game against Brentford (K.O. 3 00 pm, 7th).
That means I have to be in Manchester by 2 00 pm latest. (I get a lift to the ground from my mates house.)

There are major roadworks at the A3/M25 interchange which mitigate against using the M25 as a route north. - The A3 is only really viable in normal hours if you are going on through, past the M25.

Thus I tend to use the M27/M3/A34 option.
And that's the way I'm planning to go up on the 7th - first port of call at the mo' being Gwantommo in Long Eaton.
