Reading this article I realised I didn't know any of them. I wondered what samples other wammers like?

https://www.whathifi.com/features/songs-that-became-famous-samples

The two I can think of are:

Tones on Tail - Movement of Fear, the riff is sampled on Fun Lovin' Criminals - Scooby Snacks. I remember when I first heard it in a shop or pub or something and I recognised the riff straight away. I was very pleased that an obscure song I love had been used.

The Cure - 10.15 Saturday Night used on Massive Attack - Man Next Door on the Mezzanine album. The Cure song (and the whole Three Imaginary Boys album) meant a lot to me as a teenager so it was a pleasant surprise to hear it on this album.

Biggest rip off ever
In fact being mainly Matt they contain a lot of talc which makes them even cheaper to make .
I'll never fall out with you Julian, and I know this is your area of expertise. But... as someone who has decorated a great many rooms over the decades, I've never used anything as pleasant to apply as F&B, nor anything that seems to cover as well, nor anything 'off the shelf' with the same colour palette. I'm sure you could mix something as good, but the colour charts from the usual suspects can't hold a candle to the F&B colours IMHO.

It’s not that it isn’t good paint , and they have cornered the market as far as “ heritage “ colours are concerned.
It’s just a lot more expensive to buy for what is basically an emulsion ..
But like HiFi , and I’m sure you would agree the cost of something Isn’t worth sometimes what’s in the can ..
And like all brands what was once quintessentialy British is now owned by the Danish company Hempels
They also recommend a 3 coat system which is not environmentally considerate..
But like music reproduction , if it’s what you like and you can afford it then it’s not a problem
Most of the painters and decorators we supply won’t use it unless they have to ..

A 6 second drum break (from 1min 26 secs to 1min 32 secs) that launched the whole drum & bass movement

and hip hop would have been nowhere without this 18 seconds from 5 min 22 secs to 5 min 40 secs.

The theme of Chris Rea's melancholic 'Road to Hell' and the cosmic riff in Sabbath's 'Wheels of Confusion '.
Not 'sampling' but a welcome re-use of an inspired riff.
