The Cyrus is a no-brainer but a Lejonklou Entity would be a bare-bones alternative.

Some discussion here about the Delos being 'bright' which I don't recognise. I find them pretty even handed and an improvement on the Lyra's of old. Sure they have a rising top end, like most MC's ever but these more modern Lyra's have lost that slightly lean sound in the mid-range so they sound more full-bodied and more even. I've used mine (and other Lyra's) with Naim Superline, Aesthetix Rhea and Hagerman Bugle Pro with Hashimoto MC3 transformers. All to great effect.

I will stick in my 2p worth and nominate the Goldnote PA10 as a phonostage to hear. It will be at the top end of your budget but in my opinion is very versatile and has a lovely warmish tone. When funds allow you can add the Goldnote psu for the PH10 for additional goodness. I use one so I am biased but have found it a lovely addition to my system.

I have an Icon Audio PS3 in the classifieds for well below your budget. And I bought it as an upgrade from my Trichord Diablo (which itself was an upgrade from my Dino II).

Had one many years ago. Really decent phono stage that was.
