I don't suppose I'm the only one to have let go of something really special in my interminable box swapping.
There were the Gale 301s, delightfully vivid and open, which could sound magical on the end of something as humble as a Rogers Cadet. Not seen a pair for years.
Then there were those 15ohm Spendor LS3/5a s. The best, I recall of the various Rogers, Goodmans, Spendor, and Stirling LS3/5a I have owned.
And those Wellborne 45DRD monoblocs? A couple of watts, with a following wind. But a wonderfully luminous and mellifluous midrange that somehow made limited bass and roll-off treble seem immaterial. And when did I last see a pair of them?
Anyone else wish they had never let go of something?
