Hi all,
First post from a hi-fi novice...
I was recently gifted an old Linn system consisting of a Kolektor, Ikemi CD player, LK140 bass, LK140 treble and 2 x Keiledh speakers.
Got it all set up and working perfectly. Loved it. Trouble came when I had to move it over Christmas. When I was reconnecting it I blew the bass LK140 (happened while reconnecting the speakers and forgetting to power down the amp - clever/dumb balance restored), and the main PCB is fried. The bass card seems OK.
Linn and a Linn specialist have both said the card is unsalvageable, and the best bet is to either scour eBay for another LK140 (or maybe just the main PCB?) or reconfigure the treble LK140 to run as a single passive amp and link the Keilidh terminals for single wiring.
I'm going down the single passive amp route until I can find a replacement PCB for now, so is reconfiguring the treble amp simply a case of disconnecting the Aktiv treble board?
Thanks in advance,
Garth
