I have owned these earphones for a while now and haven't used them very much. Now when I link to Tidal on my phone, the sound is very tinny so they are not enjoyable to use. I have checked the bluetooth settings and looked at the user manual again and cannot see anything to change to make them have some bass.

This model was favourably reviewed so could they have a fault?

I've had a few issues like this with IEMs in the past. The key is to find buds that fit your ears properly the supplied ones are usually not very good. I buy after market foam ones cheap on eBay that are good.

I've had a look on Amazon and there are hundreds of ear tips. Which foam ones would suit the JBLs?

Which ones suit your ears is the question IMHO. I'm not a fan of the type though use them on airplanes &c. Several different sizes helps focus down, and sometimes a different size tip for each ear to locate them in the ear canal properly.

I have little idea which foam type to order but I know which size I need. I have tried the medium size silicone tips supplied with the phones and the bass is a bit better but the treble is no shrieky I don't think any tips will save these.

I have ordered a pack of these. If these do not improve things I'm giving up with them (makes Muttley noises).

I bought these to try the different sizes, then a pack of the size that fitted best.

I've also got some nice branded ones free from a show but I forget the brand. They look very similar to these though

Thanks m8. The ones I've ordered have a size chart which indicates I need the SF2-Medium but (useful info included) they don't fit the case, which isn't a real issue.

I tried the memory foam tips and not a bit of difference. I remember wearing these at a gym when they were new and I'm sure they sounded ok.
