Plenty of Fela horn riffs too.Me too, I went straight from work, on my feet and dancing in my suit the whole time
Joe Armon-Jone's piano solo and the section that followed it almost had me in tears too
Awesome gig!!

That solo was incredible. In recent years, I've really noticed the crowd chatting during quieter parts of gigs much to my annoyance - this was a real problem when I saw Public Service Broadcasting at the Troxy - but everyone was dead silent for Joe's solo on the grand piano. It was a truly beautiful piece, you only needed to have looked at how the other band members were as lost in it as the audience was. I've been trying to think of a way to describe it all day and have failed completely. I saw EZ at the Apollo earlier this year and tbh, I didn't think they could top that, but they absolutely did last night.Me too, I went straight from work, on my feet and dancing in my suit the whole time

Thought JAJ's solo was a bit Keith Jarrett-esque.That solo was incredible. Crowded House with the Waterboys - Cork June 2024So who are you going to see ?
Saw them on Thursday at the Usher Hall, Edinburgh. What superb musicians these guys are.I've seen the Australian Floyd a few times over the years but they keep getting better &
last night's show was a stand-out.
Their set list doesn't change too much but the musicianship is of a very high standard
and the visuals are always interesting & topical.
Memorable bits were the shared vocal sections of 'The Great Gig in the Sky',
an emotive and powerful 'Wish You Were Here' and the final 'Comfortably Numb'.
All was very good though.
