A record 24 races planned for 2023 F1 season talk about squeezing every last drop out of the sport. It won't be long & they will start dropping all the old F1 tracks (some need to be) for more street circuits because there's more profit to be made.

Yet another sport falls under the control of Arabs to be manipulated & used as a toy to play with.

I thought the US company Liberty Media owned the rights to FI ? Have they been bought out ?

ps Agree with the exploitation though.

The 3 x USA fixtures are all at he behest of Liberty.

No German GP is sad, given their F1 heritage.

Happy to see Spa, Silverstone, Monza, Monaco, Japan, Brazil classic circuits still there.

Dutch GP would not be there were it not for MV but I can see why its retained. Ditto Austria.

Hate that they continue to have that super bore Monaco as a race almost never see any overtaking but it is retained for the oft quoted glamour but is in fact just tat.

As you say Steve, more races = more $$$$$$$$
Theres been more actual racing & overtaking this year, some of it sportsmanlike.
However, like most people who arent Dutch, the grip that MV has on RB & his type of racing style that will inevitably trickle down to younger drivers, will push me away.
He's been lucky not to cause a serious accident resulting in injury, but that cant last.

Although I cant wait to hear Horner attempt to bullsh:t his way out of the events of last weekend with Checo.

I have been to Monaco GP and for me it is a great track to see racing on. Not for the overtaking, which as you say, is tough, but rather for the millimetre precision to Armco that separates the quick and committed from the rest. I can also appreciate the huge concentration this takes for 70 laps.

plus the automotive, marine and human eye candy is awesome.

A Monaco wet race is always fun to watch.

Already done and it is the media and fans to blame because they did not , and still won't tell us what was discussed and agreed and everything is being made out that Max was the good guy and real team player and the whole of the rest of the team were being nasty towards him .

they expect us all to accept this and Max does not need to explain anything and we all have to believe him .

Nice to see Spa is still there, just a beautiful track. I would be tempted to get rid of Spain and Hungary and qualifying at Monaco is more exciting than the race.

Let's hope it is closer next season, I'm sure Mercedes will be back in the mix.

It may have been as there is a lot of arab influence within F1 over the weekend Sheik some body or other said if it had been brought to his attention about Perez crashing at Monaco he would have investgated it.

He said he would not F1 or the stewards would which makes you wonder who is running things really🤔

The president of the FIA is an Arab.

Well, it is finally 2023! I’ve taken the liberty of changing the thread title to make this the official 2023 thread. Not much to say yet. Encouraging noises coming out of the Mercedes camp that suggests they have a car in the W14 they can make work. Red Bull have the advantage of a working competitive solution they can simply develop as do Ferrari. My one hope is that whoever wins in 2023 has to work hard for it. 🙏🏾

FIA has apparently introduced a new rule this season to silence the drivers freedom of speech...

The new rule stops "drivers from making their voice heard on issues including human rights and racism".

It has been suggested the rule "appears to be a reaction" to Lewis Hamilton raising such concerns During the last season.

I think F1 is doomed to be overwhelmed by all sorts of scandals and corruption sadly just too many fingers in too many pies.🫣

My view is they are simply coming into line with other sports. People ejected from the Aussie Open for having Russian flags is equally discriminating as is banning of rainbow armbands in soccer. Sponsors are mostly to blame although in the case of the FIA it is partly the expansion of F1 in the USA where Hamilton’s message would be less well received amongst their more typical motorsport enthusiasts. My guess is there will still be initiatives but they will be driven and voiced by the organisation and not individuals.

Did'nt see it but it looks like the Mercs are still behind the eight ball in terms of development🫣

Must have been a very nice feeling passing two Mercs & a prancing Horse to pick up a podium😁

it looks like Mercedes have finally decided to ditch the no sidepods design from last year and get back to what everyone did last season. Something they should have done last year and been more competitive leading to a much better start to this season🙄
