Content.
When is good, good enough?
When does one stop this pursuit of perfection?
Never, ever?

Perhaps not never-ever, perhaps tomorrow.
Tomorrow, its variable then, it changes, it flows, its contingent.
Contingent, contingent on what, income, age, desire, a poem?
Not a poem, a song.
A song, what type of song?
A song about contentment.
Easy for you to say.

I think I may be close.
Close to what?
Perfection.
Never, ever.
Close enough.
That may be true.
How will you know?
I'll be content.

And you?

  1. Yes
Contentment
Has nothing to do with the latest equipment
Contentment
Has everything to do with your state of mind
Contentment
Was mine for a number of years when I had an LP12/Ittok/Troika/LK1/LK280/Isobarik system
Music flowed
I was happy
Then came more spare money and eBay in the early years
Contentment
Changed to desire
And change followed
And hasn't stopped

When I first saw the title of this thread, I read it as content. After reading the post, I thought "oh, content." :)
I recently saw an amusing video short about a French speaker trying to learn English and the English speaker trying to correct the pronunciations of through, dough, cough, tough, bough, hiccough, etc. Yes, we do have a strange language!

Hard enough trying to get my speakers to understand English, let alone French.

Maybe it's a case of getting to know yourself & what you really like.
This could save alot of money and make you smile more ?
If you can listen to your system all day, across all genres without being analytical, then I think that's as good as it gets imo.
...unless you want to start the process of desire/shopping all over again. :)
Do whatever you enjoy would be my advice. Being aware of our foolishness is in fact wisdom. ;)
* Discover new music instead of shopping ?

When the money runs out? Seems to be a limiting factor for most. But if you did have enough to afford a top spec Linn system, and your dealer has set it up proper, then what else is there to do other than to listen to music?

Let's say you just purchased a Majik system, and your dealer has set it up proper. That's all the kit you can afford. Then what else is there to do other than to listen to music?

I think both would equally enjoy the music.
