Very true. Great products -v- great marketing is a very interesting debate. For years I didn’t connect magazine reviews with marketing - I know better now.I think a history is no guarantee of a future in the Hifi-Industry . A few years ago mention a high end pre-amp and they were one of the first names put forward . Others promote their brand more succesfully and get the attention . McDonald's don't stop advertising. burgers just cos they sell millions of them .
Just treading water in the industry is not good enough
And with all those YouTube reviewers of today, there must be dozens of bits of kit floating around the place, never mind any actual stock in dealers and/or importers. (Not Audio Research, but generally)
