The R26 had 230V printed on the back of the unit, and was fed 230V so no mismatch in that regard.
I'm assuming that it's a 220v power supply, in the same way as the 220v ones in the UK have 220-240v printed on them. They're surely not going to manufacture a 230v one specifically for Ireland?

Or I wonder if they're actually 230v, allowing for + or - 10 volts....

The pictures I have seen show selector switches between 110V and 220V. It may well have 230V on it, but they're relying on the operating tolerance of the transformers.

Why not🙂.

Because they already supply units with a 220-240volt supply. I may be wrong, but as this will suffice, in their eyes, for a 230v supply, I wouldn't expect them to produce a specific 230 volt version?

I had an R26 for 3 weeks and returned it. I just did not hear anything special in terms of its performance. I have not had any experience with external dacs, but the internal dac in my Primare pre60 sounded just as good. After a while the unit developed what sounded like a mains hum and I returned it for refund. I live in Ireland where mains voltage is said to be 230v. 230v was stamped on the rear of the Gustard
Thanks for sharing that sir. The primare pre60 might have a newer dac implementation, so it might be upto the level of the newer dac's. But my dac is from 2013. So iam expecting that there will be some Improvement in my case.

The Primare pre60 was introduced in 2014

Believe Ireland is the same as the UK, 240volts, the EU is 230volts. The EU tried to make out the UK and the EU have the same voltage, but it is not correct, the UK did not recuce it's voltage to bring it in line with the EU. Some transformers do hum if designed for a lower voltage, they can hum more if your voltage is 250 volts than 230 volts. I also read that they don't last as long.

Did you ever try one of these @newlash09 ?

Another supposedly highly-rated DAC with absolutely no option to demo in the UK.

Anyone else kindly add to impressions of these?

Cheers
Very good evening sir :)

Unfortunately I have'nt heard one so far. My query was based on the positive reviews they seem to get. However, a friend is getting one close to this month end. And he has promised to share his impressions vis-a-vis his current denafrips aries dac. Will share his findings once i hear from him :)

It seems to be the only way to get to hear one of these 'latest and greatest' DACs these days.

No dealer support because the 'Grey' market undercuts them and we just have to rely on people taking a punt. Or take one yourself!
