Watched last nights League Cup game against Bournemouth and it was a real You Never Walk Alone match through the Wind and the Rain . Both teams deserve real credit for trying to play in those conditions . Nunez goal was yet another fantastic strike and just about pulled us over the line . Bournemouth could easily have been more goals down in the first half but made excellent use of the change of ends playing with the wind . Liverpool are finding the way to win even when things are against them which is always a good sign . Jarrel Quansah is proving to be a real discovery he was for me the outstanding player of last night deal with the conditions reading the play and even coming out with the ball . At twenty this is very impressive and do not want to jinx it but Liverpool may have found the next Virgil Van Dyke .

Ah well a poor end to a poor weekend I am currently suffering from a chest infection which is making me cough like a demented smoker . Looking for something to cheer me up I turned to Luton v Liverpool , I think I nearly killed myself with coughs , shouts and swearing .

Liverpool should have gone to this game and come away with three points . Luton had a great game plane stuck with it and very nearly took the three points . Liverpool reverted to old last season failures , firstly one they could see that Luton were going to target the right hand side they should have adjusted but did not . Second it is wonderful to create lots of clear cut chances but you then need to be clinical and finish them off . Had Liverpool scored any of the chances they had in the first off then I believe they would have scored another and won this game . Because they did not Luton grew in confidence and them soring was inevitable .

Credit Liverpool then for finding a way to at least get level they could have just felt sorry for themselves and lost . The goal and the scorer were the best part of the night Luis Diaz is currently living under the most awful pressure and for him to train and play and deliver the message to his father that he is still strong is a little special . Any game is only that and just fades away compared to the real life jeopardy Mr Diaz senior and his family are going through . So well done Luton a very deserved point , but my thoughts and hopes are with the Diaz family that this can be resolved without any further harm . YNWA

Went to The Emirates for the Seville game, and was surprised at how poor they were, Arsenal dominated from start to finish, scored 2 good goals, and all honesty should have scored more, but 2 was more than enough! Seville had their first shot on goal in the 6th minute of added time!!

Sadly been finding out that I am indeed getting old and things like chest infections that were shrugged off earlier in life are now something that hangs around .

Went to the Liverpool v Brentford game on Sunday first for a while as the last game was in the middle of the Wam Show . Liverpool were excellent although it seems all the pundits thought they were lucky . Frankly after about fifteen minutes I knew we were going to win even if Brentford got a break away goal which was all they were playing for . Once the first goal went in I knew there would be more . Liverpool have such a strong attacking line each with different talents and threats we seem to have the combination to unlock most defences . Salah is just a joy to watch you think he has done little in front of goal then he scores two . Jota is just a byndle of energy moving from out to in tackling harrying and forcing mistakes and then just to show he has more a superb strike around the goal keeper .

All the pundits i have heard seem to say Liverpool are lucky to be were we are and that they are not sure that we can keep this level up . Well we all have our opinions , mine is Liverpool are getting better and this is a very new formation playing together more as they is only going to improve them and we will see what our next game brings , City look their usual flowing selves and we could easily get another hiding by them that can happen too any team if City click on the day . However my view at the start of this season that Van Dyke was past his best has proved to be a huge error by me . As each game comes he is getting as good as I have ever seen him , not only is he getting his challenges and timing right he is telling those around him were to be and what to do . With Endo in the team on Sunday he also started to alternate with Matip and stride forward on the attack and generate space with out worrying if there was cover . This is all new and looking good .

Well here we go not feeling too confident about today . If Liverpool can be the good side they can be then we have chance but we need to be clinical . If we are less than our best then we could end up on another drubbing which would not be huge surprise . Most of all I hope that this a great attacking game won or lost by the players on the pitch and is free from poor decisions and no VAR taking centre stage .

Nervy game with City in control for long periods as they often are . Liverpool not clinical but neither were City . The longer it stayed 1-0 the more I thought Liverpool would score . Trent played well giving a decent defensive performance under pressure and then topped it all off with a great goal . I expect Klopp will be the happier of the two managers . Was really disappointed that City,s tactical could were not punished with yellow cards as was promised at the start of the season . This has been a feature off all Pep,s teams and frankly is a very annoying form of cheating . Liverpool are not without there own failings but I would like to see Ref,s in general do what they promised at the start of the season .

I have never seen a softer disallowed goal in my life than that today. I have watched and rewatched and I cannot see a foul, certainly not one that has been given before. That would have been 2:0 and really game over. I feel immensely frustrated because, and I have said it many times, I believe that two clubs in the PL are the continual recipient of fortuitous decisions, today's opponent being one of those clubs. The decision was utterly embarrassing. To compound it, Jeremy Doku today broke the record for successful dribbles this season - Sky awarded MOM to his main opponent. The game was not free of refereeing ineptitude nor questionable VAR...AGAIN.

I have no issues with 1:1 but for that decision. The game was flat, and although City were the better team, it was a bit of a nothing with both sides looking a bit wary of the other.

Sadly we are all biased pulling on a goal keepers arm while he is jumping to make a save would always be a foul to me . Jumping up next to him and trying to put him off fair enough but pulling on his arm is just a foul . The reaction of the City players was also a good indication very little in the way of celebration and no one going to the Ref , I think they knew it was likely to be seen as a foul which in my view tells the story . Neither the players or Pep seemed to be making too much of it afterwards .

As to those that get the advantage here are some figures for this season . Not really that much of a difference .

Villa up to 4th. First time in 15 yrs.
The offside trap we play gives me kittens. Think Spurs scored a few offside goals. :)
It's very exciting though when we play the top teams. They don't put 10 behind the ball & it makes for a good watch.

I think you’ve got a good chance of holding on to 4th , need to keep Watkins fit though.

Man U up to 6th! (How the mighty have fallen...)

Still, the Reds are stringing a few results together, and we actually scored more than 1 goal..

Luke Shaw is back and the other walking wounded will, surely, be fit again soon.

Ive been talking about Garnacho to anyone who cares to listen for some time and we saw the evidence inside 2 mins of the game against Everton. What a goal!

Liverpool v Lask well great result and happy to keep a clean sheet , but no real consistent form again very sloppy passing and poor finishing . This should have been finished and clear first half but no instead fourth goal not till late on . Also are a tidy team but just can not afford any decent clinical attackers . Good thing is we can forget about this competition till March so now we can concentrate on all of the others . Wonder how young a team Klopp will play for the last game ? Not really fair as there is still things between the other sides for second place but doubt he will take any chance with injuries . Mixed week for other sides in Europe .

I think the post-match comments of referees like Keith Hackett are more pertinent. Even Carragher said that if the referee had given the goal, there is no way that VAR would have overturned it. As I said, I cannot recall a goal being disallowed for less - I think Alisson just made a hash of it.
