Me and my partner have recently purchased a TT again after I swore some 15 years ago never to get back into the media again. I sold my collection and TT's and was happy not having to fuss over records again.
The catalyst was the Bristol show where she was fascinated by TT's. I reluctantly agreed but said we would only have a collection of 100 records/50 each at any time. For any album added after this, one will have to go. We are also moving to Spain shortly so space will, at least initially, perhaps be restricted.
We are about 25 in. 15/10 in favour of myself. Mine are almost all Jazz other than a lovely double album by the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra playing Sibelius in the 70's. I have a list of remaining jazz I want so am now looking for suggestions of superbly recorded Classical LP's, Karajan being one of my favourite conductors but open to all suggestions. I would favour specialist audiophile pressings such as from The Original Source (Deutsche Grammophone Audiophile re-issues) and similar but would be happy to seek out others that don't fall into this category if they have historical or quality recording credentials.
Finally, Metal/Death metal. Again, there are a lot of abysmally recorded examples out there and some good ones. If I pay good money I want the best for LP replay. I favour the fastest, non melodic ones, the harder/faster the better.
I stream using Qobuz/Tidal HiRes services so any LP's I buy will have to be exceptional, that includes cover quality, inlays (if there) etc.
Very grateful for any suggestions you may think fit this bill.
Thank you
