Superb pair of Mark Grant’s G2000HD interconnects with WBT 0110 Ag locking plugs. 1 metre pair. Plugs alone on sale at MCRUS for £195. HiFi Choice – Interconnect Test At the risk of flogging a dead horse I thought I’d bring the group test in this month’s HFC to the forum’s attention. It’s interesting for several reasons: 1. It is (purports to be?) blind (but not double blind?) 2. Some measurements are provided in the magazine wit full results available online 3. They include a free “red & white” interconnect in the test (the other leads in the test all cost around £200) The measurements recorded were: series resistance; series inductance; parallel capacitance; leakage; and temination quality (based on a purely subjective appraisal) The free cable scored just one star for sound quality under these conditions and measured about 40% worse than the group average on resistance and leakage (290 mOhm and 20MOhm, respectively). The overall winner was a Mark Grant G2000HD cable which measured better than average across the board. But a Van den Hul cable (TheSea 3T) was also highly reccommended despite scoring 90% worse than the group average loop resistance (70 ohm) and 50% worse on leakage (13 MOhm). The million dollar question, I suppose, is: on balance, do these results support an objectivist position, or do they leave subjectivists room for manoeuvre? Looking for £sold delivered.
