We have just lost a man who gave of his own time to moderate, and bring the voice of reason, to some of our more extreme contributions.

Next time you come up with a post that makes you feel BIG and clever, by making a noob feel small, before hitting the enter button...

think how John might have dealt with it*

*that came randomly after your post Mark, its a general remark, not directed at you.

Ya sarcastic old sod :D

:goodone: Well said Jerry, and I agree. This moratorium should extend beyond hosing-down nwbs to include any pompous, self-important, attention-whoring hubris.

And the confusion of opinion with fact.

And passive-aggressive sulks when contradicted.

And sarcasm.

Sarcasm is baad, m'kay?

There is much to like in this post.

Lads, if you joined a forum in 2013 you are not a "newbie", OK?

Super Wammer
I find it a little intimidating at times.

There are some things us newbies will always do :-

- we will ask questions which have been answered many times before

- we will have bought equipment which is now considered sub-standard by the wiser more experienced souls

- we will have overpaid for things, and not found that hifi bargain in a local skip

I guess we are all on a journey, some of us closer to the start than the end.

:goodone:

Ive just been packing up all me gear for the journey to scalford tomorrow .....just dawned on me that the only bit of kit ive got left from exhibiting 2 yrs ago is my Isotek MiniSub and TL Bass speakers ......never meant to do it ...but as Dave said we are all on a journey

Indeed, a great way to honour his legacy. In this case we can bring a new meaning to the acronym WWJD that I think John would smile at:)
