Rusty wok burner

Recommended Posts

Left my trusty wok burner out in the rain at the weekend and it's become a bit rusty.

Any top wam tips on getting it back in decent shape, and any idea on whether I'm supposed to season it, as one other cast iron bits n bobs ?

Give it the once-over with a wire brush to knock the rust off. You may need to clean the rust out of the various holes in the rings - a bit of galvanised wire or similar will fix that, but avoid making the holes any bigger. Then give it a spray with a can of the black high temperature paint sold for painting wood burning stoves etc - should be fine. The paint will be a bit smelly the first time you fire it up.
