ah yes the Gamma , I've had a couple of their preamp's in the past and really enjoyed them but I have never seen one of their 211 monster's like yours

come up forsale .

by the way what's so funny I did a search but no threads came up , just wondered what people thought gave the best sound .value. room heating ect

Relax loo. Same old carry on mate. You ask a question about something specific and the collective response has sod all to do with the question lol.

I like my Gamma. 18w se from one pair of valves. Really gutsy, but with a lovely 3d quality.

The valve type is almost irrelevant.

It is all about the design of the amplifier, the quality of the output transformers and the match to the speakers,

If that is correct then an amp utilising either of the valve types will be excellent.
