You made a couple of good choices then? :D

Thanks Barry

But I didn't mean to buy the amp either.

Bloody hell. An odyssey. Started off with this...

And ended up with this...

Not sure what will happen in 2015. This thing needs feeding! ... More music is the plan :-). Honestly though, this lot smashes my previous system out of sight. Will take me a while to work out where to go from here...

Did changing from Black & White to Colour make a big difference to the SQ Ritchie? :geek:

Super Wammer

2014, was a quiet time for me, nothing came in and probably nothing will change in 2015.

Everything is nicely run in now and I don't feel the need to change anything.

Never in a million years, the 552/500 is far enough for me, it does everything I want from it and never fails to entertain, why would I want to change it?

I couldn't find the original un-treated image Chris, but I suppose it does kind of express the difference between the two... :D

2014, I listened to music about 4 hours per day average.

For 2015, I hope to increase this to 5 hours. :D

I've felt this way for some years and decided that I would be happy to die with my present system. The purchase of a Michell Gyro SE a few years ago provided the icing on the cake. But a local dealer persuaded me to trial an HR power supply for the turntable and I was so impressed by the improvement to a system that I thought was finished that I bought immediately.

NOW the system is complete. I think.

I followed advice (a bit) from a wammer and sold my 2 set ups in the living room and bought one set up and then relented a bit. So;

OUT

Audio Research Ref 3 and Ref 110

Krell FPB400CX and KPS 25SC

ARC CD7.5

IN

Krell 202

Krell 600 monoblocks

Esoteric P03 and D03

AEC VS110 (relented and nice price)

Auralic Aries (replaces SBT)

Supernait 2

In and Out

Krell Cipher (never played SACDs correctly) got Esoteric

Over the last two weeks I am off work and have no hifi........ Wilson 6s have a broken speaker bolt, awaiting repair and the Audionote Es have bad foam.

For 2015 get the Krell/Wislon set up running again. Get the Audionote set up running in system 2. Trouble now is it is getting too difficult to change (if I want to). I have to admit I like the simplicity of having the Linn Renew, Supernait 2s and ANEs.

Cheers Phil....... left ear is the problem diminished top end

Resulting in lop sided stereo image ..... it's all on the right side when u listen

It's awful ...... very depressing to say the least

Ensure the left speaker is some 10 cm nearer you than the right one. The earlier arrival from the left sound will then tend to rebalance the sound stage. Cost nothin to try.

And have the ear checked. The loss may be unrelated to the tinnitus.

IN:

Jolida DAC III from PhilV

ProJect RS Phono from BD Audio

Various Phono cables

Various new vinyl

NHS hearing aids which negate the performance of existing kit and future upgrades, but hey ho!

OUT: Arcam FMJ A22 on loan to a mate

2015 possibilities include the following;

Set up NAS for digital streaming

A new TT as I suspect the Michell Tecnodec and Tecnoarm combo could be improved upon or I may just get hold of an HR PSU.

Sub for movies - one of the BK range will probably do the job nicely.

DAC tube rolling and I have seen a few recommendations made in the forum
