Has anybody got any thoughts on this being used on a Modwright 36.5 Ls https://mcru.co.uk/product/gutwire-perfect-ground-cable/

Pointless (and a waster of £400) if you ask me, but ask @SergeAuckland

There are different types of earth/ground: http://www.analogictips.com/faq-ground-rules-earth-chassis-signal-ground/ and the MCRU cable is going to a plug socket, so it's using the safety ground.

Check the LS36.5 manual or contact Dan Wright at Modwright by email for the proper use of the grounding pin on the pre based on how he designed the amp. Dan's always replied to my emails very quickly with a succinct answer to all my questions.

Thanks for the info and link. It is interesting to see what people think. I have asked Dan to comment. My feeling here is leave alone if you do not have a problem but there are arguments for both sides.

This is what Dan Modwright had to say about my question on RCA grounding.

Hi Robert, the RCA outputs on the LS 36.5 are NOT grounded.  Rather, they are common to XLR (-) and float.  I would not recommend grounding the RCA outs.  You could do this with the tape out however, as those RCAs are grounded.

Thanks,

So I will not be doing that but great service and advice from Dan of ModWright as always, hence my buying a new ModWright 36.5Ls from Jack at BD audio to get over my gain issues with my older 36.5Ls

Regards all Robert.
