Not necessarily overhyped, but just dissapointing were:

Barbara Streisand - Guilty Too

Mike Oldfield - Light + Shade

Very mediocre stuff - I was expecting better of both albums.

Have to say that Oldfield's 'Light and Shade' was absolutely terrible, I have finally given up expecting a new album by him to be anything other than acheap euro-dance muzik fest. Which is a shame.:(

And I'm still trying to listen to 'Ariel'.......and struggling to 'get it'.:Not Sure:

how can that be a disappointment? surely you knowit's crap beforehand. :P Fortunately I'd heard enough of him on't radio to give it a massive bodyswerve...

can't think of any albums I rushed home excitedly with to be disappointed when I played them... that said I've tried to studiously avoid 'big' famous names recently, with the exception of a couple of CDs. so I'll pop for Pantz Ferdinand as my disappointing album, even though I was smart enough not to buy it. have been subjected to bits of it though.:run:

Am I allowed to say "X & Y", simply because it's a C******y album? See the keyboard still won't type the name ...

Boxer

And when I 've heard any of it `twas utter shite: got driven from several shops in York `cos they were playing stuff off it, had to take refuge in Track Records (excellent shop!!!), where they were playing the new Ry Cooder - improvement.
