Dave,

Most helpful about the Saturn-R; I look forward to more of your impressions as I approach a purchase.

I'm liking the Cardas plug, I'd like one of those!

Its really practical when you're setting up the TT/arm without the cable getting in the way and allows you to experiment with different cables.

This was however criticised in another forum for adding another "unnecessary break" in the signal form cartridge to amp. While theoretically this does make sense, I am personally not worried when you think about how many "breaks" and solder joints the signal has to go through, getting equalised, amplified, before it reaches the speakers!

Many (many) years ago I owned a pair of Rega Ela speakers, sounded great. Anyone here own a pair I wonder ? Just curious....

Still have my mk1's (fully fluted, Royd drivers), bought them "ex demo" from a hi fi shop on Mill road in Cambridge many years ago. Still love them, and couldn't imagine not having them.

Here is my RP3

I hate the colour, I hate the cheap plastic sub platter and I hate how the TT PSU hums like a bitch...

But it does sound soooooo good.

Will sound even better when I ditch the Grado for a DL 110.

Very possibly. It's when you get close you can hear it. Buzzing sorry, not humming. It's fine at listening distance - just annoying that it does it.

I'm picking my RP3 up tomorrow from Analogue Seduction who are fitting and aligning a Denon DL110 for me. I'll mention the buzz to them and see if they could mention it to their Rega rep.

Get the psu checked out, they are nnormally quiet,

why pick that colour then,

yes they do

If the standard sub platter bugs you that much, there are a lot of aftermarket shiny ones, but not all of them do what ut says on the tin.

Got that colour because it was ex-dem inc the TT PSU for less than the deck on it's own. Beggars/choosers and all that.
