Both of those crossed my mind Duvet whilst I was contemplating my reply and would probably been included if I was in a different mood at the time. :)

I bet that my favorite album of this year will be coming out after the poleis finished. The three i put down in my list are not my the best in my opinion but some that have had an affect on me in some way.Be it a bass line, or a verse in the song.I have been dissapointed really with the albums of this years. Only a couple you can really say are quality start to finish.Bloc party, kasabian,St Etienne,Rufus Wainwright maybe. I thought of albums that may have not be listed as well.

I'll jump on this bandwagon please. Fisherman's Woman is a great album. I don't have the debut, but might just be tempted to get that now ;)

Another vote for Fisherman'sWoman from me.

My personal favourites so far this year:

Josh Rouse - Nashville

Jose Gonzalez - Veneer

Jem - Finally Woken

If you like Jem, check out Frou Frou Details, far better IMHO. Jem has got some good tunes on it though I kinda prefer the more Trip Hoppy bass lines from Frou Frou. Its a more like Love in the Time of Science, ET's first CD.

Can't say anything has grabbed me by the throat/knackers this year. A load of averagely-talented youngsters with no real class pretending to be the next great thing. The last great things were The Stone Roses in my opinion and Radiohead up to the point when theyflushedtheirsongwriting skills down the crapperand disappeared up their own arses.
