And this normally retails for how much? (The Duelund, not the Faber Castell... I suppose at least it is a good brand of pencil lead!)

You could always write them a letter of complaint :)

Having thought about it, I should be writing them a letter of complaint :x

To be fair, they are hand made. It probably takes at least a few minutes of someones time (probably working for minimum wage), probably producing between 6 to 10 an hour. Add in the overheads, business rates, tax, etc, and they are probably around the right price mark. Though, at over 26 times the cost of a standard resistor, are they worth it?

Hang on, 5H hardly contains any carbon - 5B would be high in carbon, 5H is the opposite. Maybe that's how they control the resistor values? :P

Not resistor values more tone controls :)

, there was some discussion of 'the pencil' in Coco's amp build thread.

To be honest they seem like fair money for the work involved in making them. Whether they sound worth the value is another matter entirely, but i'd have no issue with them on parts cost and build time to retail price. I'd warrant that their capacitors offer less 'value'...
