albums you've just ordered and dont know what they're like

Recommended Posts

Just ordered the first two albums by Catherine Wheel, Ferment and Chrome. Not got much idea what Catherine Wheel are like, just heard a bit of one song called Bill and Ben and it was quite impressive. Apparently they are mentioned on the liner notes of Smashing Pumpkins' Siamese Dream

I bought Dirty Words by Departure last week having never heard them but did so based upon the Amazon review which likened them to The Killers, The Bravery, U2 and the Cure. I tried to find a couple of mp3’s online, something I usually do prior to buying material from an unknown artist, but couldn’t find any, and so I took a gamble.

Well, the Amazon reviewer wants his ear syringing IMHO :dunno:I don’t think it’s a bad album; it just might take a few more listens before I fully appreciate it.

Tom McRae : All maps welcome. Like this guy's style so a no brainer.

Brian Eno :Another Day On Earth :?:?:?:?:?:? . Great write upin most of the music press. I think most of the music press must be pissed. I'm still persevering with this album cos i'm a tight bastard and hate to think i'm wasting my money. I may have to concede.

Just bought the Arcade Fire CD after having read many rave reviews about it.

Also recently bought some Laura Cantrell CDs, although being a fan of Nanci Griffith and Emmylou Harris, this was quite a safe purchase for me.

Also bought the latest Porcupine Tree CD blind. Spun it a couple of times, but haven't quite made up my mind about it yet.
