I use a Pro-Ject Ground-it Deluxe isolating platform, on a Target wall-shelf securely fixed to the wall. It seems to work very well.

If you do go with a wall shelf...the same applies as with tables or floor stands. It should be  light and  rigid in construction.

The best fixing for the shelf is then a little counter intuitive because you don't want to bolt it hard up to the wall.

Choose good strong wood screws with a long plain shank near the head which have a nice tight fit in the  chosen plugs.

Then  snug the shelf up so that there remains a little play between it and the wall .This helps decouple it from the energy excited and  stored  in the wall .

You're sort of hanging the shelf from that wall rather than bolting to it .

[Some specialist shelves are supplied with fixings designed to achieve this  same effect but the above  technique works very well with care :D ]

The wall in question is a solid brick wall. So here's another thought... I live next to a main road that is quite heavily trafficked and sees its fair share of HGVs, I guess there is only so much one can do... never found skyhooks to be particularly effective with anything much! ;-)

Tiger Paw have a nice shelf although the photos on their site are not the best (unless you’re really into closeups of spikes). Light frame, clever way to secure the shelf, smart decoupling from the wall. I’m happy with mine. Not tried any of the others, though.

I think, you can‘t buy  the Vulkan anymore, cause it  is out of stock, now.

I bought an used  Audiotech one, it still sounds great .

Is Tiger Paw even functioning at present? Roger seems to have disappeared from the scene. If that is the case, it is a great pity, as the products are excellent.

If I'm not mistaken the TP  Vulcan was a development of the already excellent Audiotech wall shelf , with similar "decoupled"  fixings supplied as standard.

It is indeed very similar to the Audiotech which is still one of the best wall shelves that has been made.  I recently heard that Roger had sadly passed away and that Tiger Paw was effectively shut down.  If true it is too bad as Roger was a very nice guy.

I just came across this thread in the passing and although Roger " tiger paw " has taken time out I have it on great authority from Bignose5  that Roger is alive and kicking and we continue to wish him well.B|

I'm glad to hear that he is still OK, I enjoyed the few conversations we had.

I can also recommend the Vulkan wall shelf, it is very, very good.

... but I suspect not currently available from Tiger Paw, which apparently is inactive at present, though I'd really like to be told this is not true.
