Gyrodec AC motor suspension cork discs- split

Recommended Posts

Hi Group-

I noticed the belt shredding over the motor and noticed that the shaft/ pulley was not straight up and down- not level. I was do for a total tear-down and tune up. When I got the motor out found that one of the cork pieces had split. I have glued it with 3M High Strength 90 and it seems to be holding.  I would imagine that Michell would have replacement corks, but has anyone come up with a better way to hang the motor?  No real way to get this perfectly aligned other than uniform adhesive and disc thickness. Ideas?

Also looking for guidance on the motor assembly- looks like someone was in this unit before and not sure all the washers on the Pabst AC motor are installed correctly. Motor 901-3520-001. H SZ 2035.  If anyone knows the correct stack of the washers and o-rings I would be grateful if you could share.

Many thanks,

George

i suppose you could modifi it using the rubber isolation bobbins , or use thick sorbothane, the best thing would be to contact michell when the holiday is over , it looks like a mk1 version , with the AC motor , if you use the bobbins you would have to drill 3 or 4 holes and add either nuts or bolts, for them to fit , i take it you are not in the uk , so i would also buy some grungebuster pads, and use them to replace the cork ,

he sent me pictures of his deck it looks like the older version with the 3 screwholes that hole the motor on the chassis , the new dc version is held in a rubber sock, and not by a nut ,the motor is left suspended in mid air what i did was to add a seal to support the motor and the rubber ,
