Hifi and politics.

Recommended Posts

Hifi is like politicians and politics. That's all I have to say really. Sorry to disappoint if we're expecting more hifi and politics.. ¬¬

Surely Hi Fi unites (ok, apart from cable discussions) and politics divides. This could be a fun thread ;-).

Hifi and Politics - it is all about the measurements ..discuss.

Of course the comparison of hifi with politics is a tad daft .. we actually get to buy what we want in hifi - with politics we rarely get what we pay for :)

Think the comparison should be, magazine HiFi reviews and election promises.   Read quite a few over the years and the summary quite often doesn't match the review.  A recent one was on some bloody big Focal speakers and if my memory isn't too hazy, they retailed for around £34k.  What a size and what a price.  The Reviewer said they should be used with a subwoofer.  Yet they were Highly Recommended.

Politicians that are selling Brexit (and making promises to win a GE), is like a Website selling very expensive HiFi at impossibly low prices.....and all you have to do, is send your money in advance, to secure it.

You think they only tax us once for the same thing ?

We'll tax you on everything you spend ...and on everything you  don't spend.

And when you liberate your savings....we'll tax you on them again !

[Not sure why I'm sounding  so bitter about this .... I've got no money at all !  :D ]

Think you might have overlooked a few -

Blind testing versus sighted

All DACs sound the same/not the same

Measurements versus subjective listening

Can anyone think of others?

Good Afternoon All,

Let's see they tax you when you're earning it, they tax you when you take it out as a pension and then you pay taxes when you die. Nothing wrong with the system at all. At least as seafarer I have a legitimate opportunity to avoid paying tax and can choose how the greater part of my money is spent.

Regards

Richard

The search of that accurate sound. What the artist or music producer intended.9_9
