It would be worth the cash amount if he gets rid of the Lords and installs a new PR voting system !

I'd pay a small sum to get that, wouldn't you ?

I fancy standing as one of his MPs. Will you lend me the money to do so?

I wish people like you would post more. I know that economics is a complicated subject but to me, with my limited knowledge, the "trickle down theory" sounds like a load of b**locks. The poor and immigrants seem to get blamed for everything. Any chance you could explain the distribution of wealth in a simple way? Anything that I read here or anywhere else that I think will help people understand that they are being f**ked over by the Tories gets plastered all over Facebook by me (sorry guys, I steal your quotes).

Thanks though the reason I don't , despite some of the reasoned informed comment, is pretty well demonstrated across this thread as I said previously.

'Trickle down theory' you have pretty much nailed it actually. There is not a lot of evidence to suggest that it works or has ever worked, the Office for National Statistics assessment is that income equality hasn't changed in the last 10 years and in addition in the last three years its getting worse. Now that isn't the only pertinent factor to assess the viability of a political direction or the effectiveness of a governments financial strategy but despite all this governments positive noises around job creation and their success in turning round a previous labour administration disaster the impact on the economy and the working population have not been positive. Those that were rich are still rich (actually richer), those that were poor are still poor (and there are even more people in that category now).

Unfortunately the issue of Brexit has polarised opinion and tainted a general election, there seems no room for reasoned debate, facts, figures and this election will be won on the back of spin doctors, glib one liners and yes, lies. It is so depressing.

This was pushed through my friends letterbox at the weekend...

Not a great look with not a lot of effort....

Running government is like running a business...is it too much to ask the people fronting that business look business like....

They don't need to understand Gini to understand that the north east has been the subject of under investment by a succession of governments of different colours which has resulted in them being worse off compared with many areas. Some people experience that every day I'm afraid.

Would I trust my elderly next door neighbour's wife or a slick looking double glazing or phone salesman with a public school accent, to take care of my interests and to care about me? Let's see...

Ffs it's a CV of a prospective candidate for a job...

You do whatever you need to get the job....only then can your ideas make a difference....and that means selling an image to run a business ..not to sell groceries on clay cross market. .

It's just so unprofessional..

And from where I'm looking my granddaughter could do a better picture and she's only 6...

Julian,

I've employed a few in my time.

I've taken the opinion that it's a lot easier to change their clothing and make them look smarter than it is to make them smarter and change their attitudes.

You can only make change if you're in power....

The only way to get power is to take it away from the opposition

In this case from the conservatives..

So you need conservative voters to vote labour..

Well in my honest opinion the photo shows zero effort to do that...in fact it would put most conservative voters off...that may seem very shallow ...but we're in a society where image counts ..and if you want power that's the price I'm afraid...

Have a look through glossy hifi mags..car mags computer mags .hotel brochures...estate agents...cookery books...television ads..

It's supposed to be slick and appealing ...my mate was a long time labour voter...he's even sent her an email saying its crap..not had a reply yet though ..as he says ...it just sends out the wrong message to the people you're trying to win over, and it's a poor showing if that's the best you can do...

Or Lib Dems Julian. Swing Voters - I don't know the current state of the vote there so I could easily be totally wrong.

I think looking at the Tory vote this year is a stretch. They seem to be fixated both on Brexit and on themselves to the exclusion of all others.

Labour and the Liberal Democrats' message will in no way resonate with them and I cannot see too many of their tribe moving.

Now. I agree that the presentation is less smart than some of the slick opposition. That has not hurt Corbyn though in Labour seats and seemingly in marginals too.

Most Tories will always vote Tory with a huff, puff, and fnar IME. It's the others and the floating voters you need. Converting Tories to socialism is a stretch do you not think?
