Cables Galore & bits at knock down prices.

Recommended Posts

Right. Sat around for years doing nothing so I might as well pass them on. Edited as many have now gone to new homes - sorry!

So I list

QED QNEX SPDif £10

Straight Wire Evo SPDif £40

OMEGA Audio (one of Tony's) AES EBU £25

Cable Talk "Improved" Interconnect in Yellow (phono - Phono) £20

VDH The First SPDif  - fantastic 0.5m - £70D

Finally the much sought after (because they were bloody good) Hitachi OFC-LC Super Phono - Phono £35 SOLD

Added to which there's a couple of non cables

Also a pair of unused Scanspeak Excel 6.5" drivers which are superb and again were far from cheap £60

I've priced most of these at about 35% of retail - some a little more but only really the Stillpoints.

They are only sat here doing nought. Any experienced Wammers who live anywhere near Maidenhead/Slough are more than welcome to come and have a look before choosing anything, enjoy a cup of tea and listen to the system

Cable Talk "Improved" Interconnect in Yellow (phono - Phono) £20

Hi crcvtec

Nothing yet - a surprise as it's easily the best SPDIF I ever heard but it IS only 0.5m which maybe rules it out for some.

Right, when cleaning out I've found some "dregs" these will be at almost give away prices if you can get over to me.

Omega Audio (Tony Sallis) AES/EBU - was not cheap but unknown and not in A1 condition. Chocolate shortbreads?

Sraightwire SPDIF - £50 New still made - make me a silly offer :) It actually performs above its price band.

QED Qunex Phono - phono 1m - maybe a tenner?

Cable Talk 1m phono - phono - Yellow - Bottle of decent ish Cotes du Rhone?

Un named SPDIF - 1m - no idea but I rarely bought cheap - Cheesecake?

AUD - USA mains cable (with US plug) - Pain au Raisin

1 x 3M Kimber 4TC Spade to Spade. - used to be into 5.1 home cinema so centre speaker. £10? Could make two short runs

So you can see why you need to be in the Maidenhead area as postage would make purchase pretty pointless - unless you were having the lot..

All cheapo but decent. Some help in an online prescription might get a few - my GP will not prescribe and I have a long term back problem. Nothing illegal - just my GP is extra careful with me!

Still have the VDH "the First" SPDIF. Only 0.5m which might be a problem for some but it's probably the best SPDIF money could/can buy.

Other little bits - looking around

Ortofon LH2000 Headshell Unused - £25

Mana's famous spirit level - £12

A Mitchell Record clamp - again a bottle decent cotes du rhone...

Shure SFG-2 Stylus scales. - £10?

KAB RF1 Rumble filter -£80

Set of 3 Mitchell cones. - I thought they were Mitchell but it looks not as they are adjustable for height in two pieces.

Christ I've even found a really early 8gb iPod :)

Usual Thing - look on Ebay and knock a fair bit off for those but again - hardly worth posting.

What fun looking back

Also still have the PS 3 with 3.55 OS so you can rip your SACD's that way )and play some basic games and some Sennheiser HD600's (more expensive!) That just need a new cable which costs about £5 on Amazon. Those have hardly been used as I'm not really a headphone listener. £95? I think that's a really good price for the 600's.

Oh and I've still got those 6.5" Scanspeak Excel drive units sitting here for a DIY'er - one of the finest midrange drivers ever made.

Finally for some reason I bought a SWIT SP-82/302S BATTERY/CHARGER KIT which takes in 240v and outputs 10v-14v DC via an XLR connection. Why on earth I got this I have no idea. AH! I bought it for a Metric Halo ULN-2 which was used for ripping vinyl to 24/176 without having to connect the device to the mains ensuring better performance. You can see I took things seriously as it costs £420 new. I recommend the ULN-2 for anyone recording but this pack with 2 huge Lithium batteries is sitting around so if any of you fancy experimenting - I appreciate that's unlikely :)

Right don't think I'll find any thing else. A couple of bits are reserved so not listed here.

As I say, in the area or taking a lot.
