I seem to be one of the few who has heard one. It was adequate :D

I agree it is just about adequate and doubles as an illumination for the room and as a small room heater. One of those 3 in 1 audio systems.

I have heard the Olympians and I afraid they are inadequate as personal hifi as they are somewhat large to get through train doors and other passengers complain for some reason. Bloody commuters.

I have an objection to the basis of this thread but beer, red wine and being more interested in what I'm listening to at the moment is interfering with my ability to express myself correctly. Anyway, I think my point is why should it matter if people want to spend a 6 figure sum on their music reproduction equipment or a 2 figure sum. All that matters is that people are enjoying music :). Can't we all just rejoice in that and not be so judgemental?

Well expressed - a nice charming post.:^

Co-incidentally, Lynn and I were discussing the possibility of concealed ceiling-mounted Olympians on Thursday. Worry was the HF horn dangling down might be a bit of an issue for anyone over say 4ft 10.

When you look at the big picture, it seems clear the Olympians are not all they're cracked up to be, very limited in their practical range of uses.

So I for one won't be buying a pair.

Ah....shaddupyaface. :P Either you hibernated through the 80's or you weren't born yet. Either way, think yourself lucky you escaped that peach. Along with the bloody birdie song and any number of other tasteless marvels.

What on earth were we (the UK public) thinking back then???

I have a Uri Geller record in ex+ condition

Yes I know, I heard it after travelling 184 bloody miles to my first bake off, I thought the Norweigen throat music was slightly preferable though.

Heard the Beethoven Concert Grand at a couple of shows an absolutely loved them. Not to everyone's taste I suspect, being on the full side in presentation terms but I thought they made wonderful music.
