Problematic P3

Recommended Posts

I I have a very old Rega P3  some thirty years plus old. Not been used for over twenty years and just come out of storage. Had a new cartridge, wall bracket and Rega Brio. Just played an Album and halfway through it slowed right down. Changed to 45rpm and was fine. Back to 33rpm and after a short while slowed again. Been in touch with local Rega dealer  and they suggested, because of it’s age to have an upgrade at a cost of £135.  I’m thinking it could be a belt problem. Belt has been replaced once some five to ten years ago.  Any ideas or suggestions please.

Try cleaning out the old spindle oil and renewing.

You've reminded me that mines about due for new oil.
