That is so depressing.  We all have a larf about snake-oil but I found that really sad.

I looked at the average price of his speakers on ebay and it was £200 not sure what the amp and cd players is? So maybe £10k for all the snake oil?

Yea, being kind, I’d say the amp/cdp/ speakers are £1k at the most.

Sad it took him £11,000+ before he realised cables don’t make a difference.

Why would you pay more for cables than the actual speakers?

I think you need to learn the difference between "cost" and "worth"...

Sometimes it happens by accident. In this case, I can only assume that care in the community must be to blame.

I did once find myself in the situation of having a digital cable with a £1000 new prive tag, and at the same time no DAC and a £50 CDP, but that's a long story and I certainly didn't actually buy the cable as such.

It is worth what someone will pay for it.

There is a huge antiques industry behind that idea. Oh and a high-end audio bling industry and a cable industry....B|

Antiques industry - hilarious - is some factory churning them out ? Maybe there is and we are all being conned. Back to chipboard then.

Yes. some mug has let himself be done for all that RA stuff, or a dealer is trying to flog it off. RA a creative genius, write some puff, all the dosh brought in from all those hopefuls.
