Remember when SACD and DVD audio were competing for the "next leap forward in sound quality"?

At the time, I read an article in HI-Fi News which stated that SACD massacres CD, quote from author " once you have heard SACD , you will never want to listen to CD again."

I wonder what happened to him.........and SACD...........and DVD audio.

SACD was another nail in the coffin of music industry integrity.

SACD is actually half listenable ...but its very existence gave lie to what they'd  told the world about CD when they foisted that on us, ...  long  before  digital audio was genuinely good enough.

It was just another next thing to sell us. And red-book at its very best probably out guns the best players it had to offer anyway, it wasn't a night and day difference even at the cheap end. So really what was the point.
