Speaker terminal question

I'm not flaming. I'm pointing out what others have already stated as making no sense.

I am a tech guy, with a not unreasonable amount of experience in electronics. I've also made the perfectly reaosnable suggestion as to trying a very simple and easy method to see whather you can still hear a difference. I don't understand your dissappointment about that.

Tell you what. Give me a few minutes and I'll do what nobody seems willing to. Which is to try it in a way I think is reasonable.

I've no need to try it any more times I and many others find the same.

i tried to help on a genuine query and point you've got your opinion I've got mine it's common knowledge at Linn so have a badger at them.

I might not agree with everything I hear or read but I don't flame them for having an opinion.

As a moderator I would have expected you to have a more open mind for ideas and discussion on what I believe you want to be an entertaining and informative forum.

Don't assert it until you've figured out that there is a plausible physical mechanism that can explain it - other than expectation bias, that is.

'Always have the same impedance'? On the basis that the speakers are passive (which they must be in this case), the difference in the impedance is the impedance of an inch or so of solid copper. Moreover, the total difference would be the difference between the impedance of a few metres of speaker cable, and the impedance of the same few metres of speaker cable plus an inch or so of solid copper.

Unless I've missed something, I see absolutely no way that could make even a minutely measurable difference.

There is an easy way to find out. I will get my LCR meter out tomorrow.

I'm sorry, you are deeply confused about the role of the moderator in this forum. We are here to make sure that the members follow the (few) forum rules; it isn't a requirement that we have no opinion or that we abstain from expressing it.

I asserted that it works for me. I accept that you may have a different opinion or findings. If your speakers have more than 1 pair of terminals why don't you try it and report your findings here in this thread.

That's cool the moderators are always right and everyone else is stupid and open season for ridicule.

No wonder forums fold you dont need participants you need whipping boys.

Everyone has their own opinion there's no need to batter someone for having one.

So much for fair play.

I'm sure it breaks forum rules to flame people for having an opinion and trying to help.

Shocking display of bullying.

Of course you could try removing the copper bar completely. Then the diamond formation would def make a difference!

The mods aren't always right; however, by the same token, they aren't always wrong. The mods that have participated in this thread have simply expressed their opinions - as have you. There is no bullying involved.
