You miss the point.  What is it about the "random" members of hi-fi Wigwam you hold in such contempt?

I find it quiet amusing sir...that you can call one gentleman an arsehole for expressing his views , but have an objection to his use of the innocent  word random.

You also seem to be hinting at some sort of hierarchy, based on the price of ones setup to decide, who gets to scat on whom.

I wonder where Iam in the pecking order. Maybe time to remove our kit from our signatures and only post net total system values. So easy to decide my civility when Iam replying to a post next. I either take shit or give shit. Easy :D

Nope, I genuinely haven't missed any point. But you haven't addressed your infringements of the Wam's 'community' based AUP, so using this as a basis of evidence, I'd say you have missed multiple points, and should probably regroup before digging the hole even deeper. But of course, that is entirely up to you. I am happy to respond to your posts coherently and none offensively.

I hold no contempt for anyone, I just choose who to spend my time/energy with as both are limited for various reasons.

Also as explained previous, 'randoms' is a modern term , that we (as in the younger generation supposedly) use to describe people we do not know personally.

I for one (in common with as far as I know, everyone here) couldn't give a rat's a**e how much anyone's system is worth. Especially as 'worth' is a highly nebulous concept in the hifi world. As any of us with 'non-hifi' friends know, what we spend is anyway out of all proportion, so the actual level of the insanity is meaningless.

Some of the best systems I have heard were put together on a very low budget indeed, and some of the worst (to my ears) have been 'no expense spared'. On the other hand, I've equally heard some utterly dreadful low cost systems and some sublime stuff that cost more than my house, cars, pension and everything else I own put together.

If there's one thing that's almost guaranteed in this hobby, it's that money alone is no indication of quality.

Value and money mean nothing in this hobby, especially when the 'value' of some 'collectors' items comes into it. Whether you rate them or not (and I'm not going down that slippery slope) there is absolutely no way an early pair of LS3/5a speakers are worth what you could sell them for. As for valves, the collector market has completely wrecked the playing field, with some quite ordinary stuff making utterly stupid prices. Not that I mind

If you can’t see the hypocrisy in your argument then I think you need to take a step back.

It's like anything, its value is deemed as to what someone will pay for something I guess..but we are running out of 'original' stuff, like old houses - buying a Victorian build in a popular area in the South East is brutally more expensive over a new build...same with valves, NOS or even used originals are dwindling in stock. Like those houses, they wont be made again...so you gotta get a piece of originality.

I'm totally on the same wire though regarding cost in Hifi...Ive heard some amazing stuff at ridiculous pricing, but also some horrendous stuff at even more....I do think the Asian market contributes to some of the prices stuff sells for now though.

So calling someone a “Monumental Bellend” isn’t a personal attack? Good to know.

Sorry @rabski

Sorry @rabski

Thats not what was said. Sorry if English is not your first language, I'll try to explain for you.

The AUP works on objectifying personally, this statement does not.

If I had said, "Boon, you are a monumental bellend", then your argument would definitely be valid, no matter how true it may or may not be.

You also missed the post where I addressed my previous behaviour and that after reading the AUP, improvements had been made.

You last couple of posts could be classed as 'goading' and 'creating a cyclic argument' which again, although not directly against the AUP, falls under the internet concept of 'trolling', which is often frowned upon in forums I believe.

But like MIB, your posts have shown enough about you to portray your intentions.
