Floorstanding speakers - Wilmslow Vogue Revelator / Troels Gravesen SP95

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

A pair of professionally made Wilmslow Vogue Revelators with excellent veneered cabinets, new price £1280

https://www.wilmslowaudio.co.uk/vogue---revelator-1751-p.asp

Working well, condition excellent, slight fading to veneer as expected.

----

Change the crossover to Troels Gravesens design for his SP95 and these will sing like never before

http://www.troelsgravesen.dk/SP95.htm

One can of course spend a small fortune of components but x/o s can be built for a few £.

As you'll read, same volume floorstanders, same drivers, similar speaker.

====

£300

pics added - tomorrow finally came

marks are mostly flash light, Hardly a mark on these.

IT seems that these arent quite what I thought. Smaller cabinets, approx 26 litres.

Still well made, couple of marks nothing major, excellent drivers, very musical

I think the cabinets are veneered mdf with real wood tops. Not an expert !.

Still for sale,

I heard them today, high quality drivers giving a smooth, balanced, easy to listen to sound but still with high resolution and detail. None of that shouty treble here. If I hadn't just bought the Ruarks I would have bought these without any qualms.

Done some dismantling and reassembling. Tweeters better than I thought, no wonder they sound nice.

Scan speak                                Wilmslow new price

treble  2905-9700.00               £ 125   + vat   =  150  each

bass   18W 8531 g00               £163    +vat   =  195.60 each

x/o                                                 120 pair ?

total                                           811 +

silver wire throughout. Cost ??

You'd be looking at over £850 for the parts and about £1600 fully built, including vat.

Are they like Ruarks in any way?
Hard to compare as my Solstices are so much bigger, but they certainly sounded sweet on the end of a class A amp.

Durrr........sorry, just followed the Wilmslow link.

I don't think the dimensions in the link match the actual speakers though:
