Audible Fidelity in Daventry permanently closed?

Recommended Posts

I have bought some hifi stuff from Audible Fidelity like my turntable, cart and phono stage from them just about a year ago. Lately I visit their online shop can’t see anything.  I rate their customer service highly as all members of the staff were very helpful even after sales excellent.  Sad to see them gone.

Filed for appointment of a voluntary liquidator at the end of February. It's sad, but what's sadder is the liquidator's statement of affairs. Quite a few companies we know are going to have some justification for price increases...

The sad position today , applicable to many erstwhile specialist retail sectors, is that there are only two ways to stay in bricks & mortar business.

You either pile it higher & sell it cheaper than anyone else, abandoning any semblance of customer service ...or you become a very upmarket "consultant" , more of a bespoke service to the well healed  than a shop.

There are a few very good dealers who, due to a real passion for the trade, have combined the lucrative high end specialist consultancy with the  less profitable  sale of good affordable kit , with good advice, demo facilities  and service provided by knowledgeable & approachable staff .

We need these guys...because without them there'll be nobody to guide the new generation of listeners, who will one day be the folks buying the expensive stuff.

Have a look on Companies House and you will see the statement of affairs re: creditors. As rabski has said, pretty dismal.

Obvs being stupid but how do I find the specific company info on Companies House? Entered Audible Fidelity and got a couple of hundred random results. :-(

The statement of affairs is the third item in the list.
