Hi everyone,

I'm looking Audiolab Power Amp 8000SX, 90's in perfect working order and in very good condition too, was a latest and very rare model before being taken by Tag Maclaren.

Thanks

Hi Fernando,

According to the HiFi Engine the 8000SX is a power amp not a Pre!

So are you looking for a Power or a Pre?

I suggest you change the title of this thread

Out of interest, any particular reason you want an SX rather than the more powerful P model?

(I have and 8000P sitting in a box upstairs, but only one channel is currently working. Not looking to sell it though.)

I got a 8000LX and the SX model is a perfect partner Power Amp for bi-amp my floorstand loudpeakers too.  The 8000P have to much power ( 100W ) , and I d'ont need it.

Thanks anyway :^

Cheers

I'm pretty sure the gain of the 8000P will be the same as the 8000SX, and this is what matters for matching rather than the (maximum) power. (Although do try to confirm this if you end up considering an 8000P.)

I'm only mentioning this as I suspect you may find it easier to find an 8000P.

Yes, I know that is more easier to find an 8000P, was made a lot likes 8000A ( Grey and Black versions ), despite the A version was a earlier

The LX and SX versions was a final Audiolab production are made just a few before taken by Tag, and just one year after taken by a chinese group IAG.

The quality of LX and SX is superb, and accordingly the Audiolab and a few decent audiophiles and reviewers a  few decades ago these models are a continuity of 8000A legacy with better components with a tremendous quality build  Made in England. Music lovers like me and others we are testimonies of the sound quality,  is the mais reason why I'm looking for.
