Selling due to a downsize. Used with a Transfiguration phoenix for a good few years, provides a clean, holographic, wonderful sound.

I have built a handful of SUTs using these transformers and they are absolutely superb. The two settings equate to 1:20 and 1:40. I used my last one with a Phoenix and it was one of the very best combinations I have had here.

Good price too, incidentally. You can only normally get the transformers from the US or direct from Japan, and thanks to the sterling rate at the moment by the time you've added a decent case, sockets, switch and wiring, a DIY job wouldn't cost you much less.

Thanks Rab, still got your cartridge and it's a match made in heaven with this sut.

I'm committing heresy by going into the 834p deluxe direct. :(

What about the noise of the transformers? I use Sansui A-603, Luxman 8020 & 8030 and Auditorium 23 transformers, And they are all noisy, without exception. They are properly earthed, and the noise is gone if no transformers are used (active MC head amp) in the exact same setup. Is noise, hum, inherent on SUT’s?

I sold a very nice phono stage because it wouldn’t play nice with my step up transformers. They are silent into my present phono stage. :)

Thanks, it’s always searching to match those components

So are these the HM-3, HM-x, or HM-7?
