Blown tweeter?

That is my concern, too, Martin.  If I swap speakers or amps, then if the problem is the power amp it will blow the other tweeter, and that would be catastrophic.

Actually, you only need to connect the suspect speaker to the good side's amp for the test. You don't need to connect the power amp on the faulty side to anything.

Well, I have done some swapping and fiddling and I think it was a false alarm!  Maybe it was something wrong with the music I was listening to?  Maybe washing my ears was a good idea, after all.

For some reason or another, I am relieved to say that the tweeter appears to be operating correctly.  I am now going to try to find the music I was listening to.  Maybe it was a duff recording?

A big THANK YOU for the wonderful response from you guys, truly an expression of Wamism.

I also now know what to do if the tweeter does blow.
