DIY LP-12 plinth

Recommended Posts

Maple version glued up, went for a slightly different style with corner fillets, probably not as strong and a bit of a pain with extra work now, the corner braces will help with strength though.IMG_20190226_125829.thumb.jpg.297dfb386a3d72060a635f96485995f0.jpgIMG_20190226_125833.thumb.jpg.9d1f87f052755611075cb68eab3ea83b.jpg

And corners braces in the first two. These just need top plate supports, bolt blocks and holes in the corner braces now for the wood work part to be finished.

1st 4 coats of laquer, another couple in the morning, some rubbing and waxing in the afternoon and I'll transplant the LP12 bits into one. Which one though...

These look fantastic, really different to what is out there for LP12’s. We need to see a few more pictures of it built up. :^

I would have thought there are a few LP12 third party upgrade specialists would be interested in these plinths.

I think they would turn out to expensive. Some of them have got about £400 of timber in them, add at the very minimum 2 days labour and very quickly they are over £1000, probably nearer £1200. If a dealer was going to take them on rather that direct sales they'd be even more.

I'd like to be able to offer them but even though Linn fanboys are prepared to spend this might be a bit rich.

I'm trying to have a think about this though. At the show loads of people expressed an interest in at least seeing them as a product.
