Right I'll pin this and when we get some recommendations tidy up the thread .

Or I might do a bit of research tomorrow and post a How To guide .

Just to add to the input above...

For Windows users, we have a nice free image manipulation package called MS Paint and if you open the image you want to upload in that, there are three easy steps you can follow:

1. Select Resize
2. Select Pixels
3. Resize the Horizontal dimension to between 800 to 1000, the Vertical should change to keep the correct image aspect
4. Click OK and Save the image

You can now upload the image to your free WAM space. The attach image paperclip discussed above can be seen below and note that your image can be no larger than 5MB. Resizing the image as outlined above will reduce its size.

Size doesn't matter, it's what you do with them that counts. You certainly know what to do with yours.

That was my go-to image sharing platform though it got a bit messy when Yahoo took them over and a new ID was required. Since my image posting is mainly on the Wam, it's probably over a year since I've used it.

Unfortunately, I use Yahoo for other stuff so the ID wasn't an issue...

It seems to be in a state of flux - temporarily unavailable, but $20/year when they get their act together...

Its got taken over by Smugmug and the login arrangements are being renewed shortly. Yahoo and their insistence you could only login with one of their email accounts was indeed a mess and it'll certainly be good riddance so I'd certainly recommend Flickr as an option for the future.

And you realise I'm inherently lazy and copy & paste the first picture I find that's either...

a) Remotely funny

b) Reasonably relevant

or

c) None of the above
