I would write Alan and ask him for his opinion.

I've had a chat with Alan and he is sure that the TDB-6's would work well in my small room, so I've just pulled the trigger on a pair :^

Here's hoping !

What's your opinion so far ? The TDB-2's are amazing for the money. How do you rate the 6's ?

Opinions are the 8’s are fast and dynamic. Still running in .. compared to my Rega’s, they are still a bit bright but slowly getting there. Both speakers offer a completely different presentation.. the Regas are warmer..

cant comment on the 6’s as I haven’t heard them but can only assume that they will offer a smaller presentation but that’s not a bad thing given our different room sizes.

Can't you dial down the tweeter to ameliorate that ?

Yes, you can but you would loose some clarity so probably the best term is they still sound a bit hard. They are improving but if I run them turned up whilst not actually listening to them as such, it will reduce the run in time.. I have yet to achieve 20 hours or so of actual run in due to work etc so I’m not worried
