Sgt Pepper

Simon & Garfunkle MOFI one step LP's

As you might have read I picked up a copy of this the other day but the second disc is warped (away now getting flattened). Has anyone else here picked up this release, it truly is breathtaking audio quality?

£160 Bazz, I sold some of my Blu Ray collection to fund it.

Bricking it that the repair to the second disc goes OK.

Repair went fantastically well, very happy with the result. So if anyone has a cherished record  that resembles the Himalayas I can recommend this service:

Forgive me, but £160 for a double LP and you need to get one of them 'repaired'?

I seem to have fallen into an alternative reality here.

If I'd paid £160 for a double LP and one of them was warped, they'd be making their way back to the seller double quick.

The trouble is there is a very limited quantity available and some of the new ones still available will have the same problem. The guy I bought it off paid for the flattening.

We can all easily pay much more than that for our HiFi equipment and not be at all phased, this is a one-off purchase of a superb recording that will only gain in value.

Maybe they did not have anymore in stock and everywhere has run out? These records tend to get bought up very quickly and then the prices shoot up even more. Even normal cds command silly prices when they are no new ones available, two I was looking to buy are well over £100.

I do agree it's too much for one record but you can think of it as an investment, I think the price will only increase. Some people buy several copies and then sell them when they go out of stock.
