So, which album from a group you really like/liked that made you think, oh dear lordy.

My entry for this would be:

Going back a few years, but Zoolook by Jean-Michel Jarre. After 1981's Magnetic Fields album and the Concerts in China live double LP, it had all gone a bit quiet* except for the 1983 compilation album The Essential. Then he threw Zoolook at us in 1984, which was like "hey look everybody I've bought a Fairlight sampler and I ain't afraid to use it'. And his fanbase, self included, were like "what the actual f... is this?!". I've since grown to like it, and in fact it's now one of my favourite JMJ albums.

*discounting the 'Music For Supermarkets' LP, of which only one pressing was made, then he allegedly destroyed the tapes. As you do, after putting in months of work...

I know Neil Young, in my opinion, has had some highs and lows along the way but Le Noise! What was that all about?

After playing Mike Oldfield albums literally hundreds of time over the years, Man on the Rocks, left this man on the rocks. I still can’t forgive him for it.:nup:

Duffy on the cover is  taking the f**king piss out of rock's  egos. The Cult never sounded like they really bought into  it &  were a clever piss take.

American Horse is brilliant

There have been many from a very early age but...

One album that made me sit up and think "wow" is Thin Lizzy's 'Live and Dangerous' album. Still one of my favourite live albums.

Which would be the opposite of what this thread is about :P :)

Such a let down considering the albums that preceded it.

Chris Rea - The Road To Hell Pt II. The sounds of writers block clashing with contractual obligations with a dollop of "cashing in" in the mix.
