All cables sound the same - Apart from the yellow ones...

Yes they're a bit bright there's an annoying peak at 510 to 540 THz

Oi! I have a pair of shoes just like those.  Hang on a moment - I am an engineer. That must explain it then. O.o

On a more serious note, I ran a section of mini-trunking, obtained from a local electrical wholesaler, in front of my skirting board and routed the cables through that, cutting gaps where necessary to get the cables in and out. It looked very tidy and was a cheap solution.
